Why Are We Doing The Campaign What Will The Striving For Excellence-Excelling In Giving Provide The Funds For Us To Do? Parking Lot: Our Parking Lot Has Not Been Repaired Since 1998. As You Can See From The Pictures Below, It Needs Some Extensive Work. Our Parking Lot Is Not Only Used For Cars, But Also As A Ministry Site For Several Outreach Ministry events.
Replace Doors: Our doors leading out of the building near the handicap access ramp are no longer fully functional. The doors cannot be unlocked. The door model is no longer available and needs to be replaced. As you can see from the pictures below, the door handle is broken and needs to be replaced.
Air Condition Fellowship Hall: The Fellowship Hall becomes very uncomfortable due to the heat when it is full of people and a meal is being prepared. This makes it difficult for events such as banquets, meals following Homegoing services, Vacation Bible School and other events. The windows on one side of the fellowship hall were sealed off in order to prevent a cave in from the area of the parking lot near the handicap access ramp. This limits the airflow in the fellowship hall.
Remodel The Kitchen: Our Kitchen has not had an overhauling in the past 25 years. We have painted and added new sinks but that was about nine years ago. We need to bring the kitchen up todate. We are also going to have to replace the hood fire system in the kitchen because the model we have is no longer sufficient for the new code system by the city.
Sanctuary Carpet: We need to replace the carpet in the sanctuary. It has some very rough seams that have come lose and keep spreading across the floor. Some individuals who ignored our signs about liquids have poured things on the floor that have left deep stains in the carpet that we have been unable to remove.
Air Condition The Nursery & Classrooms: Several of the windows do not open in our classrooms. In one of our largest classrooms, none of the windows open in that room. The rooms can become unusable during the hot days for youth worship and for Life-Sharing classes. We intend to place individual units in each classrooms to keep down on the cost. The windows in the rooms are extremely narrow, therefore we will have to do some brickwork for each room to make it possible for a unit to fit into the room.
Upgrade The Electrical Work On The Far Side Of The Building: We have to upgrade and add additional lines from the panel box. Currently, the heaters in the nursery can barely be used during the winter, because plugging in an object in the kitchen will overload the circuits. Provide A Tithe For The Least Of These Ministries: Whatever amount of income we receive will be sent to ministries around the world to help people who are in such dire straights that they must have outside assistance. Our least of these projects included, free wheelchairs for those in the third world countries, delivering people from human trafficking and the sex trade, providing gifts for the children of those incarcerated, providing bicycles for young girls to help them get to school, and helping our own to be able to get up and downstairs, Expanding Our Youth Ministry Staff: We currently receive assistance from the presbytery to provide medical and pension benefits for Pastor Kellie. Each year the amount from presbytery decreases. We want to provide those benefits ourselves as a congregation in order to have Pastor Kellie part of our staff for years to come. The work she does with our youth ministry has been exceptional. Providing Resources For Vision Ministry: We want to provide resources for different visions for ministries that the Lord places in the hearts of our people. If you have a dream for a particular ministry at our church or to be a missionary somewhere on our behalf as a church, we want to help make it happen. New Robes For The Choirs: Our Warriors Of Praise, God's Chosen Generation Choir, and Praise Choir have not had new robes for the past decade. Since they lead us in worship, we should help them to look their very best in worship. Choir robes can cost from $75 to $150. Liturgical Dance Outfits: Our Liturgical Dance & Praise Dance Ministry has expanded greatly over the past few years. Liturgical Dance Outfits average about $75 each. We are making an investment in the lives of our youth, and since they are leading us in worship, we should have them looking their best for the Lord. Upgrade Our Sound System & Projectors: We want to have the best sound and picture quality that we can afford to have. Our wireless microphones no longer conform to the standards set by the FCC since the airwaves went digital. The technology has increased greatly since we purchased our projectors four years ago. Purchase New Cameras For Broadcasting: Our best cameras that we have for our services are now about 10 years old. Those cameras cost S1600.00 then. The replacement cameras that would give us a a much clearer picture on TV are now $3400.00. Not only do we broadcast 8 weekly tv programs, we also send video around the world. The better our quality, the more of an audience we are going to reach for Jesus Christ. If you add up all the numbers of viewers from our different website services, you will see we have touched over a million people in our web ministry. Provide Operating Funds Backup: We will have more of a cash reserve for those months in which we do not have enough money to pay our expenses. During those months we can borrow money from ourselves rather than making a passionate plea to the congregation so that each year we will start the year without leaving a deficit from the previous year. : |
